A conventional photograph of an over-photographed tree.  It’s seen in ad campaigns and brochures. I’ve shot a million portraits under its branches. One day I decided it was time to photograph the tree by itself, for its own sake. This is how it looked that morning, twisted and gnarled from its hard life on top of the mountain. One of the few subjects I’ve presented in both lensed and lensless photographs, because each captures an aspect of this tree that can’t be rendered any other way. -mc

Heirloom Series

• Museum-quality archival pigment print
• Printed locally in Asheville, NC, by renowned printmaker Dot Editions and individually inspected by the artist
• Printed on Hahnemühle German Etching, a mould-made copperplate printing paper, fully matte in finish and delightfully tactile in texture
• Title and signature in pencil on print recto
• These heirloom-quality artworks are printed and prepared upon receiving your order. Expect a working time of two to three weeks before your print ships.

Framing

• Heirloom Series prints may be framed
• Small Heirloom prints are matted and framed by the artist to archival standards
